As your council member, I will continue to focus on Lathrop's families, seniors, and small businesses. I will advocate for safety, our children, and our schools.
I am currently serving in my second year as your City Councilmember. During my tenure, I have advocated for and succeeded in having a lighted crosswalk installed at Lathrop High. I brought a referral to council, which passed, to allow our businesses to have tents and tables outdoors allowing them to continue service during the Covid shutdowns. As part of Council, I approved city-issued pandemic grants to offer financial assistance to both our small businesses and families. I have also worked with the city attorney to create an ordinance which has since passed -- banning cellphone use in our city’s crosswalks -- educating and making our youth safer on their walks to and from school.
Other projects include: working toward having the area schools provide the City with their safety plans in case of PG&E planned power outages, reinitiating 2x2 meetings with MUSD, advocating for researching bussing alternatives for our students, seniors, and families in Lathrop, advocating for our water and sewer rates, and serving on the Water Advisory Board - to name just a few.
In addition to my time on City Council, I spent seven (plus) years as a commissioner for Lathrop. I have served on the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Measure C Citizen’s Oversight Committee, and as a Planning Commissioner. During my tenure, I have consistently focused on responsible growth, supporting our first responders, and, most importantly, being a voice for our children and families.
As your Councilmember, I will continue in my mission to represent Lathrop’s families.
